The 3rd annual Shine On! Conference is here! The conference aims to:
·Promote self-confidence, and develop self esteem and resiliency in young girls, prior to entering middle school;
·Provide girls with the tools to become confident up-standers vs insecure bystanders in social settings;
·Teach how women in the media aren't real and that marketers prey on girls' insecurities so they'll buy products to "make them perfect".
This FREE event takes place on April 27th, 2013 at SUNY Plattsburgh Memorial Hall. Remember:
·This is an overnight conference for elementary school girls, prior to entering middle school. (3rd - 6th grades in most cases)
·We have room for 180 participants and will have 50 mentors, which is a better than 1:5 ratio.
·The program fills quickly. Register online. Check -in begins at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 27 and the program ends at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday
For Parents, we are hosting a Raising Resilient Girls workshop, held on Saturday afternoon. See the Parents tab above. Parents are encouraged to participate in or watch the zumbafest with their daughters on Sunday morning, beginning at 9:30.
